Watched ‘Burlesque’ yesterday and actually really liked it. It was cliched and there wasn’t good pace to the stories, at some points it dragged on while other points the story was sped through too quickly. However you can’t fault Christina’s singing, the catchiness of the song’s and the glitz and glamour of the costumes and sets. Oh and Stanley Tucci’s witty one liners. Cher was fabulous too. Cam Gigandet and Eric Dane were sizzling. It’s a film that passes the time well and I suppose because I have an infatuation with the world of burlesque and showgirls I find it fascinating. I’ll probably buy on DVD as a guilty pleasure watch and definitely will be getting the soundtrack. However my inner culture vulture is none too happy with my lack of taste so I might go read some Edgar Allan Poe to feel a little better about myself.
